telemetry sensors on a slash

Post  smitty207 on Sun 07 Feb 2010, 5:18 pm

I just purchased a spektrum dx2s and was wondering if any slash pilots had some suggestions as to telemetry sensor mounting. The temp sensor should be easy, but the rpm speed sensor could be tricky.just wondering if anyone has found a good spot for it.

Why do you need a rpm sensor in a slash?

Is it one of the ones with 2 magnets and a reciever?

If so put the 2 magnets ballanced out on the spur gear, make a small hole in the gear cover and mount the reciever to the gear cover.

this one has a small sensor with a eye on it, and a few small reflective dots that go on the spur gear.I was thinking maybe inside the gear cover also, I might give it a shot.

Heres a link to a post in the rustler section on the traxxas forums with a few different ways to mount the RPM sensor. Since the rustler and slash rear end is the same this should work.
