    Track in the Maine Mall???

Post by Uncle Ron on Tue 23 Nov 2010, 7:58 pm

Is it true that there is a rc carpet track at the Maine Mall? I was told there is one at the new Summit Outdoor Sport store. If so when do they run an what do they run?

    Summitraceway Maine Mall

Post by Summitraceway on Thu 02 Dec 2010, 1:59 pm

I just thought I should answer some questions on the track at the Maine Mall.Yes there is racing at the Mall. I have built a short-short course track that is a part of Summit Adventures, Extreme Adventure Center www.SummitAdventureCenter.com The purpose of the Slash track is to introduce R/C to as many people as possible. In the last three weeks I have had over 900 try a slash, most have never gotten a chance to try an R/C car before.
There is also a CRC carpet oval there that is not a part of Summit Adventures which I will be holding Oval racing at.Looking to start racing this weekend 12/5/10. Box Stock Slash Oval,Novice 17.5 cot pancars and 13.5 pancars. So far the rules will be the same as Cumberland R/C. We will be more than happy to run any class that shows an interest as long as you bring enough cars.
As far as the short course,we are able to offer an open night on Wednesday that could become a racenight if there is enough interest.
Any questions or comments please Email me at summitraceway@yahoo.com
    Thanks, Brian

Whats the cost for racing? Also will there be any other SCT's racing other than just the stock slash class?

    12/5

Sorry! Sunday 12/5/10 is an open test day for the racetrack. Oval racing will be $15 per class. Slash is a box stock class other than Rpm parts,I will check with Cumberland R/c to see how to handle other trucks in this class. If there is enough trucks for an open class that would be great. The Slider cars are a great show I hope they show up

By open do you mean brushless like my blitz with VXL system or just open as in trucks other than slash?

Just got back from the Mall an got a look at the track. Yes it is small for a real racer. But that is not what it was built for. It was built to interest new people an give them a taste of what could be a new hobby . I think it is perfect nothing to big to break parts. I will give what ever support I can to help out. I would even dig my slash out to keep it fare. If there are enough other brand trucks to fill a race he would be open to that. An they would have to be stock, Titian motors an stock speed controls. If you want to run the hop ups he has a large oval for that.
So all of us racers PLEASE remember this is more for trying to get more people into or hobby or sport cheers .
