Jimmy Fund Race for a Cure

Post by iceman48 on Thu Jul 11, 2013 5:37 pm

As you know last year we ran the race for the cure and made a $1800.00 donation to the Jimmy fund. I'm thinking of doing it again this year Sat aug 25th or Friday night the 24th.I know its late notice but life always seems to get in the way of our fun. Would there be any interest? Also will need lots of help! Last year I burnt Uncle Ron out.Let me know if there is interest in racing and helping out.

I am definitely interested, what kind of racing? On road, off road, oval or combinations?

Looks like Saturday Aug 24th will be the date for the race. We'll be racing at the Sanford facility to work out the track for the big event two weeks later.Rick  is working on prizes, Bill,Uncle Ron,Drew have said they will help and I hope to get Brian to help call the race.I hope this date doesn't conflict with any of the local tracks. If so please support them first, they are the backbone of our hobby.
    Thanks
    John

There has been talk of making it smaller and  not quite the huge jumps as last year.  So it is still being hashed out.  It is the same location.

We are leveling the old track at the sanford airport tonight. We will be building the track this Saturday morning starting at 7 am. The more people that can help the better. If all goes well sat. we will have the Race for a Cure next Sat Aug 24th starting at 10am.This will be the one and only chance to race on the track before the big race during the air show in sept. Thanks to everyone in advance for all the help.

Pricing for the race will be $20 for the first class and $10 for each additional class. We will have several things to raffle BUT this will be alot more low key than last years event! No trophies will be awarded I want to give ALL of the money to the Jimmy Fund.Hope to see you all there next Sat.

Not for this race.  Bring a generator or charge off your 12v.

The throttle crusher race will have power.
